Vintage Sheaffer Lifetime Red Fountain Pen
Early 1920s – a very uncommon pen in Australia.
Made of red hard rubber, it would be very hard to bend or break.
“Lifetime ” refers to the fact that the nib was guaranteed for the life of the pen. Because of this guarantee these pens became the top sellers in their day!
A massive nib, extra fine of 14 Kt gold.
Were the unusual proportions of this pen with its short barrel and standard cap intended for a gentleman’s vest pocket or for a lady’s handbag?
Thread area has been discoloured by ink used in the pen and has lines in the plastic but it is not cracked.
Condition: Fair discolouration on the barrel
